Interview with RIKA owner Karl Riener.

He has been the thinker and leader behind the successful RIKA brand for many years. Karl Riener is the second generation managing the family company and represents, like no other, living tradition and innovative ideas in the best of heating comfort.

Interviewer: Mr. Riener, what does "RIKA“ stand for?
Karl Riener: The name “RIKA“ consists of the initials of my father "Riener Karl.“ An abbreviation that has stood for quality, innovation, environmental friendliness and real economy since the formation more than 60 years ago. As a second generation family company we also have our eye on sustainability.

What does “sustainability” mean to you?
Sustainability is a vital component of our corporate philosophy. On the one hand, our products are in operation for decades; quality, reliability and technical progress really count especially to stay ahead of the curve. On the other hand, we are responsible for our customers, the environment and, of course, for each of our employees. Therefore we manufacture exclusively in Austria.

Does this special combination of tradition and innovation not also represent a certain contradiction? Not at all. We have now become the innovation leader in the wood-burning stove market and we have been the pioneer and market leader in pellet stoves in the German-speaking area for 20 years. This means we know the wishes and needs of our customers based on this long tradition and can fulfil these to the optimum. And we use all our experience and expertise as the basis for the ideas of tomorrow. Ideas are the driving force of our success in comfort, design or in all areas of technology. And we are dedicated to working at this every day. What innovation are you currently developing? We are very proud to have developed the first combination stove with automatic fuel detection and without retrofitting. It combines the romanticism of a chimney stove with the advantages of a pellet stove. We thus offer our customers for the first time the possibility of heating with both, without retrofitting thanks to this world innovation. The combination-stove is of course equipped with Rikatronic and wins through with complete RIKA comfort.
