For people affected by poverty the stove often remains cold during the winter. The stove manufacturer RIKA gave ten stoves to the Volkshilfe Österreich (People's Aid Austria) to help needy families during the cold winter months. Heating and poverty - a vicious circle where energy prices continue to rise. Heating cost-effectively over the long-term can only be managed by those who are able to purchase a new stove that utilises affordable fuel and generates heat efficiently. Those who cannot afford a new stove are confronted with ever-increasing costs: No money means no new heating system - No new heating system means ever-increasing fuel bills. RIKA has liberated needy families from this vicious circle.
