RIKA company profile

Our company was founded in 1951 and is based in Micheldorf in Kremstal, Upper Austria. Kremstal boasts a tradition of processing iron since the 16th Century. Kremstal is part of the "iron roots" region. This designation indicates the centuries-old significance of iron for this area and its inhabitants. The scythe and blade plants, whose owners were respectfully referred to as the "Black Earls", dominated the economic scene and provided jobs in Kremstal for a long time. Today the area is populated with modern metalworking companies who produce contemporary quality products; Rika is one such company.

In 1982 we started to concentrate on the production of woodburning stoves. Today we are one of Europe's largest manufacturers of high quality stoves. We demand a great deal of our products in terms of quality and design. The bases for achieving these goals are our design department, which is equipped with state of the art CAD tools, and our optimally-equipped testing laboratory. The fact that we know what we are doing with our technical solutions is attested by our vast range of patents. We manufacture our RIKA stoves using ultra-modern computer-controlled machines to ensure economic efficiency and precision at all times. The final cut, or the personal touch so to speak, is added by hand using traditional methods. All of RIKA's stoves are examined in accordance with Austrian Directive BVG 15a, which is one of the strictest regulations in Europe. The emissions generated by our stoves partially undercut these limit values by half, while the degree of efficiency exceeds the guideline values.

Wood retainers, which are individually coordinated for each combustion chamber, channel the pre-heated combustion air in such a way that causes the combustion gases to mix in an optimum manner. This enables us to achieve the lowest waste gas values and a maximum degree of efficiency. This system, which directs the combustion air across the panel, ensures a continually clear view of the flickering flames. Our quality philosophy also incorporates the use of the best materials such as rugged high grade steel, high-strength special cast-iron with a precise surface and the highest quality ceramic components. To us quality is not a luxury.

Comfort should be felt. This feeling is enhanced by using our woodburning stoves. All moving parts are precisely coordinated, fit together perfectly and are simple in operation. Even the soft "click" when closing the front door imparts an audible sense of quality. The exterior is also free from any weld seams. The careful planning phase and precise dimensional accuracy in our high-tech manufacturing processes make each individual piece worthy of a presentation model. Quality is demonstrable. Comfort can be felt. The most striking feature of our RIKA stoves, however, is their remarkable and attractive design. It ensures that a RIKA stove is much more than a heat-emitting commodity. This design makes RIKA stoves a popular item of furniture that is equally cherished during both the cold and warm months of the year. The warmer months are also subjected to some cool evenings which welcome the flickering firelight of the RIKA stove. Incidentally, the interchangeable casing elements can be used to create an individual design to fit in perfectly with the ambience of the room. As the colour of the ceramic components can be continually adapted, a RIKA stove can even be modified to suit the relevant contemporary trend years after its purchase.
